I started this mission after countless strangers stopped me to compliment my children’s behaviour and ask how I got them to listen so well. When I searched for resources for parents, I discovered there was almost nothing available to teach manners to children under 7. That’s when I created the first program designed to instill manners as early as 6 months old—working with children’s natural developmental milestones, not against them.

With a degree in Human Rights and Equity Studies, a minor in Philosophy of Ethics, and over 15 years of experience working with children (including neurodivergent children), I have developed a practical, virtue-based method that blends timeless virtues with holistic child development. My approach is rooted in Catholic/Christian teaching and traditional parenting values, drawing on research that spans moral theology, the 1870s etiquette manuals, and modern developmental psychology. Using hands-on techniques, visual cues, and consistent repetition, I help parents guide little ones during their most formative years—the sensory, observant, hands-on learning stage.

For over a decade, I have also served in numerous church ministries—youth ministry, children’s liturgy, Sacramental preparation, school ministry, prison ministry, deliverance ministry, young adult formation, and coordinating a mom’s group for new Catholic families. These experiences, especially working with some of the most challenging cases of conversion and liberation, have sharpened my discernment, deepened my patience, and proven that even the hardest hearts can be transformed with truth, virtue, and love.

All of our etiquette training is traditional and conservative, grounded in biblical teaching and moral theology—not as mere formality, but as a safeguard for the soul. Our methods help parents protect their children from scandal, ethical confusion, manipulation, and even exploitation or trafficking. Children formed in virtue grow into adults who can recognize danger, uphold their dignity, and walk confidently in truth.

I know many parents feel lost or overwhelmed. That’s why I created The Mother’s Cloak Community Group—a safe space for encouragement, practical answers, and ongoing support from me and other like-minded families. My ultimate goal is to help you create a peaceful, joy-filled home with children who listen, respect, and love well, raising the next generation of kind, confident, and respectful adults we’d all be proud to call friends.

Let’s raise the next generation of well-mannered individuals together.

Practical Tips
We merge holistic parenting with experiential, tactile instruction. Drawing on the holistic education's emphasis on emotional, ethical, and intellectual development, and inspired by Anne Sullivan’s pioneering work with Helen Keller—where language was taught through touch, context, and meaningful interaction—our lessons on manners engage children physically and emotionally. Parents are coached to weave etiquette into everyday moments: naming actions, guiding through sense-rich activities, and linking behaviour to underlying values. This dual approach fosters early communication, reduces tantrums, and promotes logical, empathetic thinking.
Next, we emphasize naming virtues and love languages for each action while teaching etiquette. This helps children recognize good actions, reinforce positive behaviour, develop strong discernment between good and evil, plus build confidence.

Dangers When Ignored
Lastly, we highlight the vices that will emerge when these manners aren't taught, as well as the misunderstandings in proper discernment that lead to poor moral decisions.
By fusing moral modelling, sensory-rich holistic education, and reflective guidance, our approach creates nurturing, intentional homes. Children grow not only to be well-mannered, but also emotionally intelligent, morally discerning, and intellectually curious—truly embodying our foundational philosophy.
12 Pillars of Manners
Most etiquette schools touch on only three areas—but we teach twelve, covering every walk of life so families are never left to guess what virtue looks like in any setting. Our Twelve Pillars of Manners mirror the biblical meaning of 12: completeness, perfection, and divine order. Just as the Twelve Apostles, Tribes, and heavenly gates reflect the fullness of God's design, our program forms a complete moral compass for children. These twelve virtues are not just lessons—they are a way of life, grounded in Scripture and destined for eternity.
